The Wonderful
Promise of Salvation & Glory:
A Picture of The Messiah's
Kingdom
19Then,
at last, they will reverence and glorify the name of God from west to east. For
he will come like a flood tide driven by Jehovah's breath. 20He will
come as a Redeemer to those in Zion who have turned away from sin.
21 "As for me, this is my promise to them," says the Lord: "My Holy Spirit shall not leave them, and they shall want the good and hate the wrong—they and their children and their children's children forever."[1] (Isaiah 59:19–21)
The Wicked Must Pay Attention to The Wonderful Promise of
God,
That of the Coming Redeemer.
The promised
Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ, is returning to earth. When He comes, He will
set up God's kingdom here on earth.
I.
On that day, people will come from all
over the earth to honor His holy name, His splendor, and magnificence. In
addition, Christ's coming will flood the earth with the glory of God, so much
glory that it will be like an ocean tide being driven across the earth by the
breath of the Lord Himself (v. 19).
II.
Note that the Redeemer will come to Zion,
which means that He will set up His seat of government in Jerusalem (v. 20).
He will be coming to live with and govern those who have repented of their
sins.
III. Note the wonderful covenant (agreement) the Lord makes with His people: on that day, He will fill the repentant with the fullness of His Spirit and His Word. And neither His Spirit nor His Word will ever depart from believers or any of their descendants who truly repent and receive the kingdom of God as their inheritance (v. 21). All who repent of their sins and follow Him in righteousness will enter the Messiah's kingdom and experience the unbroken glory and presence of God.
V
"Then shall the righteous shine forth as
the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear"
(Mt. 13:43).
V
"And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto
thee, to day shalt thou be with me in paradise" (Lu. 23:43).
V
"In my Father's house are many mansions: if
it were not so, I would have told
you. I am going to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for
you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also" (Jn.
14:2–3).
V
"Therefore, by the deeds of the law, there
shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God without
the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets" (Ro.
3:20–21).
V
"The Spirit itself beareth witness with our
spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of
God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may also be glorified
together" (Ro. 8:16–17).
V
"For I reckon that the sufferings of this
present time are not worthy of being compared with the glory which
shall be revealed in us" (Ro. 8:18).
V
"For our light affliction, which is but for
a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory" (2 Co. 4:17).
V
"When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him
in glory" (Col. 3:4).
V
"Therefore, I endure all things for the
elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus
with eternal glory" (2 Ti. 2:10).
V
"The elders which are among you I exhort,
who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a
partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: Feed the flock of God which is
among you, taking the oversight thereof,
not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;
Neither as being lords over God's
heritage, but being ensamples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd shall
appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away" (1 Pe.
5:1–4).
V
"After this I beheld, and, lo, a great
multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people,
and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white
robes, and palms in their hands; And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation
to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb" (Re.
7:9–10).
V
"And there shall be no night there, and
they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them
light: and they shall reign forever and ever" (Re. 22:5).
V "Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory" (Ps. 73:24).[2]
A Prayer of Thanks for
The Wonderful Promise of Salvation & Glory:
A Picture of Our Future
in The Messiah's Kingdom
Father God, we look forward to the day we will be with you in our eternal
home in heaven. But, until that day, Father God, we want to honor you here on
earth with our lives through our behavior. We want to represent you in the best
way we can through our obedience to your Word and what you have revealed in
your Word to us individually first and to the body of believers. We want to
turn away from our sins of disobedience because it dishonors you and reveals hypocrisy
within us. But we want the good you have placed before us to receive, and we need
your help rejecting our flesh's desires. We thank you for your Holy Spirit
coming to dwell within each of us, your children. We thank you for the ability
to reject sin and accept your righteousness and the desire to teach your ways
to our children. Father God, thank you for all you have, are doing, and will do
for us in the future. Again, we look forward to that day we get to go home to
be with you in our eternal heavenly home. In Jesus' name, we pray, Amen.
All Who Repent of Their Sins and Follow God in Righteousness
Will Enter the Messiah's Kingdom and Experience the Unbroken Glory and Presence of God.
